In WoA we have a lot of races and subraces available.
Currently, the number of extra races is above 100 and regarding subraces the number is not defined as it grows constantly due to how our system works.
The races and subraces all are initially locked but you can unlock them just by playing.
This is a very easy process, and is the same answer as many other questions in WoA.

Just Kill Stuff
Every enemy you defeat will have a chance to drop a random race or subrace that, upon use will be unlocked for your account (except for acquired subraces, more info bellow). Then you can just create as many characters as you want using that race.
If the item dropped is of a race or subrace that you already own, you can trade it with another player.
Visit our discord: http://discord.worldofantaris.com for that.
Races are chosen during character creation. Just where you normally select one of the base races you can select any race you want. However, if that is not unlocked you will be sent to a prison!
This races will come with a level adjustment that will give them additional hit dice of their specific type (outsider, giant, dragon …) so they will start at a higher level to represent that they are more powerful but will be harder to progress in your main class.
All this races come from the PRC so you can find more information about them there (https://nwnprc.com/manual/races.html)
Subraces are chosen during character creation by selecting one of the base races and then entering the name in the Subrace field. If you do not have it unlocked for your account you will also be sent to jail!
While the list of the races is fixed, the list of subraces and acquired subraces that you can see bellow will grow. Check our changelog to keep up to date with the updates, but our system is very easy to expand and add more and more customizations.
Acquired subraces are a specific set of subraces that are applied only to the character that uses the vial to unlock it. This does not unlock the subrace on the account level, is only applied for that character and can be used on already created characters. However, the character must have a base race (not a PRC race) to be able to use an acquired subrace. An example of this is the Vampire subrace, will transform your character into a Vampire.
