This pages covers the rules in game.

Death and resurrection

Once you die, you might lose gold and XP as follows:

  • Level 1 to 5: no loss on death.
  • Level 6 to 10: all gold is lost on death.
  • Level 11 and above: all extra XP is lost on death.

The death toll might be a lot but remember, you will never level down on death, you will only lose the extra XP you might have. This means that reaching a new level is a safe place and a good checkpoint but also that going out might be risky!

Gold, is easy to manage by going to the bank after every adventure to deposit everything. However getting gold is fairly easy.

XP system

As an action PW we encourage people to go on adventures and kill everything they see to become as powerful as they can. And if you do it in a group, that's even better!

The XP is splitted as follows depending on the number of players in the party (and in the area, ignoring summons and henchmen):

  1. 100% XP for the player
  2. 80% XP for each (160% total)
  3. 60% XP for each (180% total)
  4. 50% XP for each (200% total)
  5. 40% XP for each (200% total)

With more than 5 players, 40% is still given to the extra player, so each extra player makes the mob reward 40% extra experience over the total!!

However, as we want people to have fun, there is a minimum and maximum amount of XP the enemies will give you.

For each level the party (average) is above the enemy, they will give 25XP less and for each level the party (average) is bellow the enemy, they will give 50XP extra.

The minimum a monster will give is, for now, 150XP and the maximum is set at 400XP. This limits are applied AFTER the split calculation, so 10 players killing 1 single goblin will all get 150XP if they are in the same area.

Resting

You can rest every 4 ingame hours and will recover all your health points on doing so. There will also be special areas where rest is unlimited (taverns, arenas , ins … and such).

Quality of Life changes

  • All characters have 40 Strength when calculating how much they can carry
  • No alignment restrictions in any class or prestige class
